Tonkünstler-Orchester
Mozart/De Falla/BeethovenPast event
Description
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven form the classical bookends to this programme in which the London-born Kerem Hasan returns to the Tonkunstler Orchestra: Mozart’s «Haffner» Symphony, tingling with festival spirit, and Beethoven’s Fourth, which after a Romantically mournful introduction turns out to be one of his most cheerful, carefree symphonies. But between them, Hasan, who has been sought after internationally since his victory in the conducting competition of the Salzburg Festival 2017, and the young mezzo-soprano Beth Taylor, also from the UK, foment the passion of Flamenco – in the explosive suite from Manuel de Falla’s ballet «El amor brujo». In this, an undying love threatens new happiness, even from the grave.
