Serge Aimé Coulibaly . Faso Danse Théâtre
C la vieDescription
“Life’s not about waiting for the storm to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain,” is the credo of Serge Aimé Coulibaly’s latest creation C la vie. Famous for his high-energy works that always cast light on sociopolitical issues, the Belgian-Burkinese choreographer now returns to the Festspielhaus after Wakatt (2022/2023) with an equally adventurous and critical celebration of life. Featuring nine performers and a multi-layered artistic vocabulary combining dance, live music by Yvan Talbot and the mesmerising voice of Dobet Gnahoré, Coulibaly examines the current state of the world. How can we meet each other (again), interact and make sense of our lives? In a complex world that seems to be controlled by grotesque spectacles and history repeating itself, C la vie offers a chance to engage with what makes our lives unique.
